Gwendolyn R. McGhee and Randy Gordon filed a lawsuit Nov. 27, in the Cook County Circuit Court against Otis Elevator Co., General Growth Properties Inc. and General Growth Management Inc.

According to the complaint, McGhee used an elevator at a property commonly known as Water Tower Place on March 28, 2012. She claims that when she exited the elevator, the floor of the elevator did not line up with the floor of the building, which caused her to trip and injure her leg.

McGhee is suing for negligence and premises liability. Gordon is suing for loss of consortium.

The plaintiffs are seeking more than $50,000 in damages and are being represented in the case by attorney Brian S. Shallcross of Clifford Law Offices P.C.
