A man is suing his employer, claiming he was injured by a falling board.

William Marquez filed a lawsuit Oct. 28 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Martorina Family LLC, IPSA Corp., and Salvatore Martorina,  both individually and as agent of two companies, citing negligence.

The complaint states the defendants operated, managed and controlled a property and construction site at 2833 W. Chicago Ave. Marquez claims he was working as an employee of the defendant on the construction site repairing the roof of the premises on Nov. 2, 2011, when a 4x4 board being used to hold joists in place fell on him, causing injuries.

Marquez is seeking a judgement in excess of $30,000 and is being represented in the case by attorney Gary W. Klages of the Law Offices of Daniel E. Goodman LLC.
