By Whitney Brakken | Jan 22, 2014

A man is suing after he fell when a stairway collapsed.

Lajos Farkas filed a lawsuit Jan. 16 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Christopher Savaiano, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Farkas sustained injuries on June 18, 2012 when he fell after the stairway collapsed on the defendant's premises at 5142 N. LeClaire Ave. in Chicago.

Farkas contends the defendant improperly managed the premises, failed to inspect the stairs, failed to warn and failed to maintain the stairway.

He is seeking damages in excess of jurisdictional minimum and is being represented in the case by attorney Melanie J. VanOverloop of Anesi, Ozmon, Rodin, Novak & Kohen Ltd.
