Interior decorator accused of not paying arbitration award over defective chairs

A Glenview country club is suing over claims an interior decorator failed to pay an arbitration award over defective chairs.

Valley Lo Club Inc. filed a lawsuit Jan. 15 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Michael Richman Interiors Inc., citing an arbitration award from the American Arbitration Association.

According to the complaint, the dispute over the chairs that Michael Richman Interiors provided to the country club was adjudicated by the AAA on Dec. 16. The plaintiff claims AAA awarded it more than $74,000 in damages, which Michael Richman Interiors has failed to pay.

Valley Lo Club is seeking the damages the AAA awarded it, as well the cost and fees of bringing the arbitration to court. it is being represented in the case by attorneys Jon B. Masini and John P. Bjork of Vanek, Vickers & Masini P.C.
