Marianna Makarenko filed suit Nov. 27 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Sergiy Chumachok over a slip and fall incident.

According to her complaint, Makarenko was at Chumachok's premises at 2000 Redwood Lane in Northbrook in January 2013, when she fell and was injured.

Makarenko claims she was walking when she slipped and fell due to a broken deck, poor lighting and the accumulation of snow and ice. She claims Chumachok was negligent in maintaining his premises and creating an unreasonable risk for walkers.

Makarenko is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented by attorney Fedor Kozlov.
