Condo association sued over woman's trip and fall on rug

A woman is suing after she tripped and fell over a rug.

Celina Edelstein filed a lawsuit Feb. 6 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Newport Condominium Association and Lieberman Management Services Inc.

The complaint states on March 21, 2012, Edelstein sustained injuries when she tripped and fell on a curled up rug in the common area at 4800 S. Chicago Beach Dr. in Chicago.

She claims the defendants acted negligently by failing to inspect the premises, warn and and maintain the premises in a safe condition.

Edelstein  is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional minimum and is being represented in the case by Daniel T. Stanton of Cooney & Conway.
