A man is suing a Chicago lawyer and firm over claims they failed to properly represent his case.

Billy Adams filed a lawsuit Feb. 24 in the Cook County District Court against Stephen G. Pinto and Stephen G. Pinto Ltd., citing legal malpractice.

According to the suit, Adams entered into an attorney-client relationship with the defendants in July to represent him in a lawsuit. He claims Pinto failed to properly represent him by not filing the suit within the appropriate time frame, resulting in the loss of damages Adams asserts he would have received.

He is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Chicago attorney Lawrence R. Kream of the Law Office of Lawrence R. Kream LLC.
