Alden Trails sued after resident injured during transfer

Holmes

A Bloomingdale nursing home is being sued over claims its negligence led to a resident's fracture.

Felicia Triplett, as plenary guardian of Camelia Vance, a disabled person, filed a lawsuit March 25 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Alden Trails Inc. and Alden Trails II LLC, citing the negligence and violations of the state's Nursing Home Care Act.

The complaint states Vance was a resident at Alden Trails from September 2009 until April 1, 2012, during which time she sustained a fracture while a certified nursing assistant transferred her from the shower to her wheelchair.

Triplett further alleges that the nursing home failed to provide Vance with timely treatment after the fall.

She is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and being represented in the case by Brian J. Holmes of Hurley McKenna & Mertz P.C.
