Ericparker1

A woman is suing a now-closed wine bar over claims she was slipped and fell on the sidewalk outside of the West Loop business.

Irelis Contreras filed a lawsuit April 30 in the Cook County Circuit Court against The Angel's Share Ltd., doing business as The Tasting Room, citing premises liability.

According to the complaint, Contreras was at The Tasting Room on West Randolph Street in Chicago on March 7, 2013, when she slipped on an accumulation of ice on the sidewalk, fell and was injured. Published media reports show the bar closed in November 2013.

Contreras is seeking more than $50,000 in damages. She is being represented in the case by attorney Eric J. Parker of Stotis & Baird Chtd.

This is a report on a civil lawsuit filed in the Cook County Circuit Court. The details in this report come from an original complaint filed by a plaintiff. Please note, a complaint represents an accusation by a private individual, not the government. It is not an indication of guilt, and it only represents one side of the story.
