Kryder

A woman is suing a Chicago hospital and trio of doctors, claiming they failed to properly treat and respond to her husband's aspiration.

Rosalyn Smith, as special representative of the Estate of Isaac Smith, filed a wrongful death lawsuit April 18 in the Cook County Circuit Court against THC Chicago Inc., doing business as Kindred Chicago Central Hospital and Drs. Sarah Alderman, Haresh Sawlani and Neelima Sunkara.

The complaint states Isaac underwent a swallow study, was subsequently admitted to Kindred's hospital on April 12, 2012 and then became unresponsive and died on April 18, 2012 due to aspiration.

Smith claims the defendants committed numerous negligent acts, including failing to perform and institute a treatment plan providing necessary oral suctions and failing to timely respond to Isaac's aspiration.

Smith is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by the Law Office of Andrew S. Kryder LLC.
