By Ben Hart | May 9, 2014

A Cook County man is suing over claims he sustained serious injuries when a forklift hit his car.

Jesus Flores filed a lawsuit April 25 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Menard Inc. and Gregory M. Leifert, citing negligence.

Flores claims he was driving his vehicle in a stockyard at 9140 S. Harlem Ave. in Bridgeview on May 29, 2012, when Leifert was negligently operating a forklift and failed to yield the right-of-way to him, resulting in a collision and injuries.

Flores is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Chicago attorney Jacquelyn A. Fernandez of The Vrdolyak Law Group LLC.
