Two medical service providers are suing an insurance company, alleging it is refusing to pay them for a patient's medical expenses.
Marque Medicos Fullerton LLC, and Medicos Pain and Surgical Specialists S.C. filed a lawsuit May 1 in the Cook County Circuit Court against PMA Insurance Group and Continental Care Center Inc., citing breach of contract and consumer fraud.
The plaintiffs claim they provided medical attention to Serrano from April 5, 2010 through June 8, 2010 following a work-related injury and that the defendants entered into a contract with them, saying they would pay for her medical bills.
According to the suit, the plaintiffs have suffered combined damages of $28,000, including interest, in unpaid bills related to their care for Serrano.
They are seeking damages in excess of $10,300 for Marque Medicos Fullerton and $5,700 for Medicos Pain and Surgical Specialists, as well as interest. They are being represented by attorneys Alan J. Mandel, Joseph E. Tighe and Randall F. Pace.
