Visitor of Alexian Brothers Medical Center lodges premises liability claim over slip

A woman is suing over claims she was injured while visiting a hospital patient.

Rahila Hyder filed a lawsuit May 2 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Alexian Brothers Medical Center, Fresenius Medical Care Holdings Inc., citing premises liability. The suit also names an employee at Alexian Brothers identified only as Nurse Brennon.

According to the complaint, Hyder was visiting a patient in the care of Brennon at Alexian Brothers on Oct. 13, 2012, when she slipped on a leaking fluid and sustained injuries. Hyder accuses the defendants of failing to maintain the premises.

She is seeking more than $30,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Daniel E. Goodman.
