A man is suing over claims his mesothelioma was caused by asbestos exposure.

Timothy C. Mulholland filed a lawsuit May 27 in the Cook County Circuit Court against United States Steel Corp., Foster Wheeler Energy Corp., Riley Power Inc. and dozens of other companies.

According to the complaint, Mulholland was exposed to asbestos-containing products designed, manufactured, sold and advertised by the defendant companies through his various employments as a Naval reservist, bricklayer, fitter/welder and home remodeler, as well as non-occupational projects.

Mulholland claims he was diagnosed with mesothelioma on April 23. He is seeking damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Michael T. Egan of Cooney & Conway.
