By Ben Hart | Jun 9, 2014

A Chicago nursing home and a few management companies are facing a lawsuit from a former resident who alleges she sustained injuries after slipping on liquid left on the facility's floor from food delivery warming trays.

Bennie Rogers filed a lawsuit May 19 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Columbus Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Inc., S.I.R. Management Inc., Bradlor Management Inc., Central Street Management LLC, New Management LLC, Brysson Care Inc. and Columbus Park LLC, citing negligence.

Rogers claims she slipped and fell on an unnatural accumulation of liquid on the floor of the defendant's facility at 901 S. Austin Blvd. on July 20, 2012. The suit accuses the defendants of failing to properly inspect the floors and prevent the leaking and spilling of liquid from the food delivery warming trays.

She is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, as well as court costs, and is being represented in the case by Chicago attorney Anthony R. Elman of Elman Law Group LLC.
