Man files suit against Fairmont Hotel over New Year's Eve fall

A guest of a Chicago hotel is suing over claims he slipped and fell on ice and snow at the facility on New Year’s Eve.

Curtis Meeks filed a lawsuit May 20 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, citing negligence.

The lawsuit states Meeks was walking on the property of the hotel at 200 N. Columbus Drive in Chicago on Dec. 31, when he slipped and fell on an accumulation of ice and snow as he walked down a sloped walkway near the entrance.

Meeks, who claims he has suffered and will continue to suffer injuries, is seeking damages in excess of $50,000. He is being represented by attorneys at Susan E. Loggans & Associates P.C.
