Suit: Driver hit pedestrian stepping off bus

A woman is suing the driver of a car she claims hit her after getting off a bus in River North.

Phyllis Remer filed a lawsuit June 5 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Helen J. Haugsnes, alleging negligence.

According to the suit, Remer stepped off a Chicago Transit Authority bus at State Street and Grand Avenue on May 4, when she was hit by a vehicle driven by Haugsnes.

Remer is seeking more than $30,000 in damages. She is being represented in the case by attorney Daniel J. Voelker of Voelker Litigation Group in Chicago.
