The alleged failure of hunting equipment is the focus of a lawsuit recently lodged against a retail giant.
Eric Lingle filed suit June 3 in Cook County Circuit Court against Wal-Mart.
According to the complaint, Lingle, a hunter, purchased a hunting tree stand from Wal-Mart at 333 Route 6 in Morris. Lingle claims he was using the purchased equipment n on Nov. 10, 2012, when the locking mechanism for the pin to the harness that wrapped around the tree failed, causing him to fall to the ground and sustain severe injuries.
The defendant is accused of distributing a defective product in breach of implied warranty.
Lingle is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is represented by the Law Offices of Barry G. Doyle PC.
