Scales

A Cook County man is suing over claims he and his son were injured when he slipped on water from a clogged drain.

Lance S. Streeter Sr., individually and as guardian for his minor son, filed a lawsuit May 27 in the Cook County Circuit Court against PBE Companies LLC and Alex D. Moglia & Co. Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Lance Streeter Sr. and his son were on the defendants' premises on South Shore Drive in Chicago on June 29, 2012, when they slipped on water that leaked into the lobby from a clogged drain. The suit accuses the defendants of failing to maintain the premises in a reasonably safe condition.

Streeter Sr. is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorneys at the Ankin Law Office LLC.

This is a report on a civil lawsuit filed in the Cook County Circuit Court. The details in this report come from an original complaint filed by a plaintiff. Please note, a complaint represents an accusation by a private individual, not the government. It is not an indication of guilt, and it only represents one side of the story.
