A orthodontist is suing a dentist he claims was negligent in performing dental work.
Dr. Kevin M. McCoy filed a lawsuit May 23 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Rebecca S. Prescott.
According to the complaint, McCoy was a patient of Prescott on June 3, 2012, when she negligently performed an endodontic treatment. He claims she allowed materials to escape one tooth and contaminate other areas, including nerve canals, and failed properly clean the chemicals and inform him.
McCoy alleges Prescott's actions led to injuries that required and will further dental work.
McCoy is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Anthony E. Blumberg of Anthony E. Blumberg & Associates LLC.
