A woman is suing over claims she was injured in the parking lot of a shopping center in suburban Cook County.

Janina Niewiadomski filed a lawsuit July 1 in the Cook County Circuit Court against The Harlem Irving Companies Inc., doing business as Harlem Irving Plaza, alleging premises liability.

According to the complaint, Niewiadomski was at Harlem Irving Plaza in Norridge on Dec. 10, 2012, when she slipped on snow and ice in the parking area and broke her wrist, which required surgery.

She accuses the defendant of failing to remove the snow and ice and maintaining the premises in a safe condition for customers.

Niewiadomski is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented by attorneys Timothy A. Scott and Erin Dobradin of The Freydin Law Firm LLP in Skokie.
