Bank seeks $45K-plus over allegedly unpaid loan

Reynolds

A bank has filed suit against a Cook County resident accused of failing to repay a nearly $30,000 loan.

Liberty Bank and Trust Co. filed suit July 1 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Lam Le, alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff loaned Le $35,895.52 on Dec. 21, 2004. The bank alleges the loan was revised Jan. 1, 2011 for the new amount of $28,575.69, but that Le failed to her June 1, 2011 payment and has since defaulted.

As of March 11, 2014, after all credits and adjustments of payments made and received, the suit states Le owes the bank $45,256.30. The bank asserts that although it has demanded payment, Le has refused to pay.

In addition to the money allegedly owed, the bank is seeking interest, costs, attorney's fees and other relief. It is being represented by attorney Robert P. Reynolds of Noonan and Lieberman in Chicago.
