By Annie Cosby | Jul 21, 2014

A woman is suing Target, alleging she was injured in the parking lot of its Wheeling store.

Virginia L. Kellett filed a lawsuit July 14 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Target Corp. and/or Target Corporation Services Inc.

According to the complaint, Kellett was walking from the parking lot to the Target store on Lake Cook Road in the City of Wheeling on Dec. 11, 2012, when she tripped on a defective and uneven curb and sidewalk. She claims she fractured her tibia and kneecap.

Kellett accuses Target of failing to maintain the sidewalk in a reasonably safe condition and is seeking more than $50,000 in damages. She is being represented in the case by attorney Robert B. Patterson of Law Offices of Robert B. Patterson Ltd. in Chicago.
