A lawsuit has been filed by a woman allegedly fell on stairs while trying to exit a building.
Dorothy Lamber filed suit July 23 in Cook County Circuit Court against Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago, Holy Family Church and St. Ignatius College Prep.
According to the complaint, Lamber was at a church owned by the defendants at 1080 W. Roosevelt Road in Chicago on July 27, 2012, when she tripped and fell on stairs, which resulted in internal and external injuries.
The defendants are accused of failing to make the stairs reasonably safe, illuminate the stairs, provide adequate lighting and failing to warn that the lights were being turned off while people were still in the building.
Lambert is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs, and is represented by Chicago attorney Scott D. DeSalvo of the Law Office of Scott D. Desalvo LLC.
