Woman sues trio of companies over Villa Park parking lot fall

A Cook County woman is suing over claims she was injured when she tripped in a depression in the ground of a parking area.

Melinda Cozzi filed a premises liability lawsuit Oct. 27 in Cook County Circuit Court against Belvidere Associates LLC, Ward Enterprises LLC and Avadamma LLC.

According to the complaint, Cozzi was walking through the parking area of the defendants' premises on West North Avenue in Villa Park on Oct. 27, 2013, when she tripped and fell into a depression in the ground and sustained injuries.

She accuses the defendants of failing to maintain the premises in a safe condition.

Cozzi is seeking more than $50,000 in damages, plus costs, and is represented by attorney Adam T. Karchmar of Karchmar & Stone in Chicago.
