Attendee of NYE party blames Drake Hotel, for fall

An attendee of a New Year's Eve party at a downtown hotel is suing the party's host and organizer, claiming their negligence led him to slip and fall on the floor.

Adam Partin filed a lawsuit Nov. 12 in Cook County Circuit Court against LCP Berkshire, the owner of the Drake Hotel, and, also known as Inc.

According to the complaint, Parton was attending a party this past New Year's Eve hosted by at the Drake Hotel, 140 E. Walton Place, where he he slipped and fell because the defendants' staff allegedly did not clean up a spill on the floor.

Parton accuses the party organizer and hotel owner of failing to ensure the safety of those in attendance. He is seeking more than $50,000 in damages, plus court costs, and is represented by Kevin B. Apter of Lipkin & Higgins in Chicago.
