A woman has sued the Chicago Board of Education after she allegedly fell on a slippery school floor.

Dominique Cotton filed a lawsuit March 18 in Cook County Circuit Court against the Chicago Board of Education, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 22, 2014, outside Door No. 3 at Bernhard Moos Elementary School in Chicago, Cotton fell on a slippery floor. He claims the wet area was unmarked. The suit also says Cotton suffered "greatly" with injuries to her back, head, spine and left knee.

Cotton seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs. She is represented by attorney Barry Weiss of Topper and Weiss in Chicago.
