A Park Ridge builder has sued a Chicago home owner for money allegedly owed for improvements.
Highlander Builders Inc., of Park Ridge, filed suit May 4 in Cook County Circuit Court against Nelda Connors, trustee of the Nelda J. Connors Trust; Falagario Builders Inc.; Morgan Stanley Private Bank; as well as unknown owners and non-record claimants.
The Connors Trust alleges ownership of the property at 2741 N. Pine Grove Ave., Chicago, on which Highlander Builders was hired to do certain work. According to the complaint, $10,623.40 is still owed to Highlander from Connors, because Highlander already provided "labor, fixtures and equipment installed for and on behalf of the defendant in connection with the project."
The plaintiff cites counts of a mechanics lien foreclosure against all defendants, breach of contract against Falagario and quantum meruit against Connors and the Connors Trust.
Highlander Builders seeks the amount still due, plus costs. It is represented by attorney Saulius Modestas, of the Modestas Law Offices in Chicago.
Cook County Circuit Court case number: 2015-CH-07313.
