Cook County commuter sues CTA, alleging negligence in beating

A Cook County commuter is suing the Chicago Transit Authority, alleging injuries on a commuter train.

Albert Mosha filed a lawsuit Sept. 1, in Cook County Circuit Court against the Chicago Transit Authority, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 4, 2014, Mosha was traveling on the CTA’s Blue Line when an unruly passenger began to threaten him and ultimately injure him despite being asked to leave the train, albeit only once by a CTA employee. As a result, the suit says, Mosha suffered severe and personal injuries about his face and head from the passenger who violently struck and attacked him.

The suit says the CTA was negligent to not further police the situation and keep the plaintiff safe from harm.

Mosha seeks more than $50,000 in damages and costs of the suit. He is represented by attorney John T. Cichon of Polansky and Cichon in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015L008980.
