A Cook County man is suing a vendor and an auction company, alleging negligence.

David Schwartz filed a lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court against Samir Patel, Sejasmi Industries Inc. and Heath Industrial Auction Services, also known as Heath Industrial.

According to the suit, Patel sold an industrial machine to Schwartz through Heath Industrial Auction Services. When the plaintiff came to 896 Anita Ave. Antioch, to pick up the machine, he was injured by a spray of acid, the lawsuit states.

The suit alleges the defendant knew acid was present and did not warn the plaintiff of the danger.

Schwartz seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus litigation costs. He is represented by attorney Michael Silverman of Horwitz, Horwitz and Associates in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015-L-010252.
