1824

A Cook County woman is suing a Libertyville nursing home, alleging negligence involving the death of her elderly father.

Sally Rodatz, independent administrator for the estate of McArthur Ben Rodatz, filed a lawsuit Aug. 31 in Cook County Circuit Court against Manorcare Health Services.

According to the complaint, McArthur Ben Rodatz, 89, was admitted to Manorcare in Libertyville in May 2013 with a history of being on a liquid diet and suffering from dehydration and other long-term conditions. The plaintiff alleges Manorcare neglected Rodatz’s care, allowing him to develop pneumonia and other issues, precipitating his death Sept. 2, 2013.

Rodatz seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus attorney fees and legal costs. She is represented by attorney Andrew S. Kryder of The Law Office of Andrew S. Kryder in Chicago.

Cook County Circuit Court case number 2015-L-008948.
