CHICAGO–A patient is suing a Chicago medical facility, alleging surgical mistakes left her with injuries.

Jennifer and Eric Gluth filed a lawsuit Dec. 2 in Cook County Circuit Court against the University of Chicago Medical Center, Dr. David Song, Dr. Lee Alkureishi, Dr. Jonathan Bank and Essie Kueberwa, alleging medical battery and malpractice.

According to the complaint, Jennifer Gluth underwent a series of procedures without her informed consent for breast reconstruction at UCMC between December 2013 and May 2014. The suit says Gluth was permanently injured both internally and externally as a result of the surgeries and is liable for great sums for future medical costs.

The Gluths seek damages of more than $50,000 and a jury trial. They are represented by attorneys James A. Karamanis and Jennifer Timm of Barney & Karamanis in Chicago.
