CHICAGO – A Cook County man is suing a Chicago nursing facility, alleging its neglect caused him to develop pressure ulcers.
Corey French, 35, filed a lawsuit Jan. 8 in Cook County Circuit Court against Symphony Jackson Square LLC, doing business as Jackson Square Skilled Nursing & Living Center, alleging negligence and violations of the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act.
According to the complaint, French resided at Jackson Square from January-December 2014, aside from intermittent hospital stays. The suit says during his stay, French developed a sacral pressure ulcer as well as ulcers on the buttocks, hips and feet, which deteriorated, became infected with gangrene, and required surgery and amputation.
The plaintiff alleges Jackson Square’s lack of care and supervision caused his injuries.
French seeks a jury trial and damages of more than $50,000. He is represented by attorney Marc Weissman of the Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates PC in Chicago.
