Guest sues over fall at hotel in Northbrook

Wetfloor

CHICAGO — A Cook County woman says she was injured when she slipped and fell on a slippery entrance floor at a Crowne Plaza hotel in the Chicago suburb of Northbrook.

Susan Paige filed a lawsuit Feb. 1 in Cook County Circuit Court against Bays Northbrook Hospitality Corp., doing business as Crowne Plaza Chicago-Northbrook, and its president, John V. Bays, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Paige was a guest at the defendant’s Northbrook facility on Feb. 1, 2014, when she slipped on a wet floor she claims should have been dried by Crowne Plaza employees. The fall left her with serious injuries, the suit says, requiring ongoing treatment and incurring medical expenses.

Paige seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus legal costs. She is represented by attorney Daniel L. Giudice of Giudice Law Ltd.
