Daughter blames Des Plaines nursing care facility for mother's death

Medical malpractice 01

CHICAGO — An estate administrator is suing Des Plaines health care providers, alleging their negligence caused her mother's death.

Corey Frechette, as administrator of the estate of Elaine Frechette, filed a lawsuit May 10 in Cook County Circuit Court against Presence Ballard Nursing Center and Holy Family Medical Center, alleging negligence in failure to properly provide medical care to the deceased.

According to the complaint, starting March 26, 2014, Elaine Frechette developed several pressure ulcers on her body that ultimately led to her death Jan. 19, 2015 at Holy Name. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to provide adequate medical care in failing to properly diagnose and treat Frechette's worsening pressure sores.

Corety Frechette seeks a trial by jury, judgment of more than $50,000, plus court costs and any further relief the court deems fit. She is represented by attorney Steven J. Malman of Law Offices of Steven J. Malman in Chicago.
