CHICAGO — A patient is suing a group of radiologists, alleging negligence in failing to properly diagnose the plaintiff's cancer condition.

Maya Cotton filed a lawsuit June 8 in Cook County Circuit Court against Anastasia Siatras, Dr. Gregg Coccaro, Franciscan Alliance Inc., St. James Radiology Partners, LLC., Associated St. James Radiologists Group SC and Tammie Taeger, alleging negligence in failing to completely evaluate the plaintiff's condition.

According to the complaint, between March 19, 2009 and July 1, 2010, Cotton had a mammography and was ultimately diagnosed with breast cancer, which later advanced and resulted in her needing extensive medical treatments. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to completely interpret, examine and perform a complete evaluation of plaintiff's mammography, which resulted in her breast lump advancing to the next stage of cancer.

Cotton seeks a trial by jury and judgment against each defendant for more than $50,000. She is represented by attorney Patricia E. Raymond of Raymond & Raymond LTD in Schaumburg.
