CHICAGO – A man alleges he was injured by security guards at a hospital while he was visiting a family member.

Jeffrey Beckham filed a complaint on June 9 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Advocate Health and Hospitals Corp., doing business as Advocate Christ Hospital and Medical Center, alleging battery and false arrest.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 22, 2014, he sustained physical injuries when he was forcibly removed from the defendant's premises. The plaintiff holds Advocate Health and Hospitals Corp. responsible because the defendant's security officers allegedly attempted to remove plaintiff from the premises using excessive force without any justification as to why they were detaining him.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of the jurisdictional amount of this court plus court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Jeff Brown of Dinizulu Law Group LTD in Chicago.
