Wrongful death suit filed against hospital, care facility

Medical malpractice 08

CHICAGO – An estate administrator alleges that a care facility failed to prevent pressure ulcers on her decedent.

Phylistine Dardon, as independent administrator of the estate of Hattie Mae Dardon, filed a complaint on June 16 in Cook County Circuit Court against The Ingalls Memorial Hospital and Manor Care of South Holland IL LLC, doing business as Manorcare Health Services - South Holland, alleging wrongful death and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between Nov. 18, 2013, and Dec. 23, 2013, Hattie Mae Dardon experienced pain from several pressure ulcer wounds which became worse, contributing or resulting in her death on June 17, 2014. The plaintiff holds The Ingalls Memorial Hospital and Manor Care of South Holland IL LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly evaluate Hattie Mae Dardon's condition and develop a comprehensive plan to treat her.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of this court's jurisdictional requisite to adequately compensate plaintiff. She is represented by Eva E. Golabek of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz in Chicago.
