CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased woman's estate is suing Presence RHC Senior Services, formerly d/b/a Presence Ballard Nursing Center, alleging that negligence and insufficient care at the nursing home hastened the woman's death.

Sam Westferro, as independent administrator of the estate of Frances Westferro, filed a complaint on June 28 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that the nursing home failed to provide proper care to Frances Westferro while she was a resident.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that from April 22 to July 23, 2013, Frances Westferro resided at Presence Ballard, and that the development of pressure sores and pneumonia symptoms hastened her death. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to properly assess and/or evaluate Frances Westferro's condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount sufficient to satisfy the jurisdictional requirements of this court, court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Jeffrey Schlapp of Schlapp Law Group, L.L.C. in Chicago.
