Man claims negligence led to infected wound

CHICAGO — A patient is suing Matthew D. Saltzman, M.D., and Northwestern Medical Group, alleging negligence in medical care.

CHICAGO — A patient is suing Matthew D. Saltzman, M.D., and Northwestern Medical Group, alleging negligence in medical care.

Gary T. Johnson filed a complaint on Aug. 10 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide him with proper medical care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in December 2013, he suffered an infected wound after surgery. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to monitor his condition after the surgery or to perform adequate medical treatment for the infection.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $50,000. He is represented by Edward G. Proctor, Jr. of Munday & Nathan in Chicago.
