Wrongful death claim alleges negligence by hospital, nursing home

CHICAGO — An executor of a deceased woman's estate is suing International Nursing & Rehab Center LLC, d/b/a Aperion Care International, and VHS of Illinois Inc., d/b/a Macneal Hospital, in a wrongful death claim alleging negligence in hospital and nursing home care.

CHICAGO — An executor of a deceased woman's estate is suing International Nursing & Rehab Center LLC, d/b/a Aperion Care International, and VHS of Illinois Inc., d/b/a Macneal Hospital, in a wrongful death claim alleging negligence in hospital and nursing home care.

Patricia Rodriguez, as independent executor of the estate of Bertha Rodriguez, filed a complaint on Aug. 10 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper care to Bertha Rodriguez.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Bertha Rodriguez suffered from skin breakdown and pressure ulcers, which contributed to or caused her death. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to implement adequate supervision of Bertha Rodriguez.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $50,000. She is represented by Jim Navarre of Mossing & Navarre, LLC in Chicago.
