Theo Insurance Agency accused of misinforming clients

By Louie Torres | Oct 7, 2016

CHICAGO — A married couple's lawsuit against an insurance agency alleges breach of contract, breach of duty and negligent misrepresentation.

Tony Thanoukos and Ann Thanoukos filed a complaint on Sept. 9 in Cook County Circuit Court against Ron Kitta, Nick Theodosopoulos and the Theo Insurance Agency, alleging that the defendants failed to procure an insurance policy that would cover damages to the plaintiffs' property.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that in 2014, they suffered a financial hardship when their property was damaged and they found they had been misinformed that all the damages would be covered by their insurance policy. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible because they allegedly made false representations to the plaintiffs regarding the coverage of their insurance policy.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $63,000. They are represented by Alan Rhine of Alan Rhine in Chicago.
