CHICAGO — A patient is suing Swedish Covenant Hospital, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Miguel Mantilla filed a complaint on Nov. 30 in Cook County Circuit Court against Swedish Covenant Hospital, alleging he fell at the hospital, causing a fracture on his left hip. The plaintiff holds Swedish Covenant Hospital responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to implement a care plan for the plaintiff to address his risk of falling.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount sufficient to compensate him. He is represented by David A. Neiman of Baizer Kolar P.C. in Highland Park.
