CHICAGO – A deceased man's family claims a Cicero long-term care facility failed to appropriately prevent or treat the man's pressure sores.
John C. Agrela, as independent administrator of the estate of John A. Agrela, filed a complaint on Jan. 12 in Cook County Circuit Court against
Alden-Town Manor Rehabilitation and Health Care Center Inc. and two nurses, alleging negligence and other counts.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges the late John A. Agrela
experienced pain from having developed multiple pressure sores while in the defendants' care. The plaintiff said the defendants allegedly failed to provide adequate medical and personal care to Agrela to prevent him from developing pressure sores.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount of more than $50,000. He is represented by Cari F. Silverman and Pamela Dimo of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
