Man claims he was assaulted by guard at Chicago Taco Bell

CHICAGO — A man is suing Taco Bell of America LLC, Sundance Inc., Yum! Brands Inc., security guard Michael Brown and Hunt & Hunt Ltd., which does business as Security Enforcement Services, alleging assault, battery, insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries, liability and negligence.

Cortez Atterberry filed a complaint on Jan. 17 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging they failed to provide proper security at the Taco Bell at 1111 W. Addison in Chicago.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 18, 2015, he suffered physical injuries from being physically assaulted by Brown, an employee of Hunt & Hunt who was working at the Taco Bell. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible on various grounds, including an alleged failure to properly train security personnel.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. He is represented by Nicholas J. Perrone of The Vrdolyak Law Group, LLC in Chicago.
