CHICAGO — A woman's family is suing Woodbridge Nursing Pavilion, and Center Home for Hispanic Elderly, alleging negligence in nursing home care.

Alexander Mejia, as independent administrator for the estate of Maria Mejia-Ramirez, filed a complaint on Jan. 24 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging they failed to provide proper care to Mejia-Ramirez while she was staying in their facility.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Mejia-Ramirez experienced pain from having developed pressure ulcers and skin breakdown. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision to Mejia-Ramirez in order to minimize the risk of skin breakdown and pressure ulcers.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. He is represented by Bella Feinstein of Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates, P.C. in Chicago.
