Family Construction and Cleaning accused of not obeying state order

By Louie Torres | Feb 1, 2017

CHICAGO — The Illinois Department of Labor is suing Family Construction and Cleaning Inc. and Ion (a/k/a Jon) Vanciu, alleging breach of contract, unpaid wages, and violation of workers compensation acts.

The state filed a complaint on Jan. 27 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging they failed to pay the amount due within the allotted time as required by the department's order.

The state alleges Family Construction and Cleaning, Inc. and Vanciu failed to appear and participate in a formal administrative hearing on the matter.

The plaintiffs seek an order that the decision and order of the Illinois Department of Labor is an enforceable administrative order, and requiring the defendants to pay penalties and wages owed, plus interest.
