By Louie Torres | Feb 3, 2017

CHICAGO — A former employee is suing the city of Evanston and a former supervisor at the city, with varying claims against the defendants including breach of contract, intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress, and willful and wanton conduct.

Kenya Evans filed a complaint on Jan. 26 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they terminated her employment without giving her the proper opportunity to defend herself.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she sustained damages from being harassed during her employment with the city of Evanston, and was then improperly terminated.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant for compensatory damages in an amount greater than $50,000, punitive damages, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Robert J. Shelist of Law Offices of Robert J. Shelist, P.C. in Chicago.
