CHICAGO — A deceased man's family is suing M-J-T-J Contractors & Builders Inc., Keeley Construction Inc. and Hamilton Partners Inc. for allegedly failing to implement safeguards that may have prevented a fatal scissor lift accident.

Sandra Klein-Koziol, special administrator of the estate of Timothy Koziol, filed a lawsuit on March 7 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the defendants failed to properly supervise the work being done on the premises.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Koziol fell on Sept. 8, 2015, while performing his work on a scissor lift and struck his head against the concrete floor. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to check the job site for any existing issues that could pose a risk for accidents.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by Alex D. Abate of Angelini & Ori, LLC in Chicago.
