Woman sues nursing home over slip and fall while visiting her mom

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Glen Health and Home Management Inc. and Glen Elston Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre Ltd. for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent her from slipping on a wet floor while she was visiting her mother, who was a patient at the nursing home.

Ruby Eldefonso filed a lawsuit on March 9 in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the defendants failed to clean the soapy water that had spilled on the floor.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she sustained physical injuries when she slipped and fell on the soapy water on June 27, 2015. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to warn her of the soapy water on the floor.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by Peter A. Zneimer of Zneimer & Zneimer P.C. in Chicago.
